noise_ban in your face

Just reminding you that noise_ban will be going down, in the good way, at Cocomo, [323 Old Street, Shoreditch] this Good Friday, from 6pm till midnight,

Egg the Teens
will be performing a live set and the DJs include Ceefax B, Full Stop and Monsieur Ferro. Be prepared for a musical journey, taking in electro, house, dub-step, disco and techno with a quick detour via car-alarm and French missionary.

It's not fancy dress, but if you're the first person to turn up dressed as a bunny rabbit we'll give you an egg or something. Incidentally if you turn up dressed as Monsieur Ferro you get to DJ, or at least max out his tab at the bar.

Here's a picture of Egg The Teens rockin' out at Bestival, don't they look happy with their A-Ha flag.

Hang over music...

[Don't forget Noise Ban - FREE - 2nd April @ Cocomo]

Drinking Russian Standard Vodka from an old sports cap Highland Spring water bottle last night resulted in a day of chilled out music listening to help me cope with feeling like "a bag of dicks" as a dear friend would put it.

Following is the top 3 highlights of the days listening:

This video is of the best (in my opinion) pop-jazz group, Esbjörn Svensson Trio, playing - Behind The Yashmak at the Jazz à Juan Les Pins festival. Sadly I didnt ever see EST live, and following the death of the pianist Esbjörn Svensson in 2008 I'll only be able to imagine how awesome it would have been.

Next up, we go back to the hip hop instrumentalist Aim's first album, 'Cold Water Music', with the track 'The Force' featuring Q.N.C. as the MC. (The skating is from the video Lordz "They don't give a fuck about us")

Finally, 90's hiphop pioneer Del tha Funkee Homo Sapien. I was pleased to discover he is STILL going strong. All his future gigs seem to be in the US/Canada.

Bubble Bath

[Don't forget Noise Ban - FREE - 2nd April @ Cocomo]

Here's a bit of foamy disco for you:

The Swiss are a class act hailing from Austraila, check out their myspace, they spout some crap about being the only legit disco band around, ignore that nonsense and enjoy the selection of smooth sounds they produce.
